FRCL 10240 - WHY WE WEAR CLOTHING |
WHY DO WE WEAR WHAT WE WEAR~
From Cinderella's ball gown and Little Red's cape to corsets, crinolines, and kilts; from bustles and buttons to designer labels, and dress codes; from power dressing to uniforms, clothes reflect who we are and how we see ourselves in society. Do clothes really "make the man?" Do we wear veils for modesty or protection? Why do we wear clothes at all? This course will examine clothing as a reflection of culture and society in an attempt to answer the question of why we wear what we wear around the world and throughout history."
